Studio Etiquette

At Pole Angels, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, friendly, empowering and safe space for students and instructors from all walks of life. The following etiquette and policies outline what is expected of all members to help maintain a respectful, supportive and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Studio Hygiene

  • Please bring your own towel and water bottle to every class. Water is the only drink permitted in the studio space.

  • Food is not permitted in the studio. Light snacks may be eaten in the waiting area.

  • Please apply deodorant before class so we can keep our studio smelling fresh.

  • After training, ensure your pole is cleaned thoroughly from top to bottom. If you use Monkey Hands or similar grip products, please take extra care to remove any residue.

Safe Training

  • Always use common sense when training. If something feels unsafe, wait for an instructor before attempting it.

  • Do not attempt tricks or skills you have not yet learned in class.

  • Please do not teach, coach, correct or spot other students unless you are an instructor. While we love how supportive our community is, this can be unsafe and confusing for students.

  • Open Studio is for personal practice only. Instructors supervising Open Studio are available to answer questions but are not there to teach new skills or provide one-on-one spotting.

  • Be mindful of other students who are training. If you'd like to socialise, please do so in the upstairs common area rather than the studio floor.

  • Please minimise walking in and out of the studio during class unless absolutely necessary, as this can be disruptive to both students and instructors.

Respect & Boundaries

  • Always ask for consent before physically assisting or touching another student.

  • If filming, obtain permission from anyone who may appear in your video before posting, whether on social media or otherwise.

  • Please avoid recording the entire duration of your class.

  • Pole dancing celebrates what our bodies can do, not how they look. Please refrain from commenting on anyone else's physical appearance, even if intended as a compliment. Likewise, avoid negative or self-deprecating comments about your own body, as these may be triggering for others.

  • Our instructors finish work when class ends. Please respect their time outside of studio hours. If you have questions after class, please email reception@poleangels.com.au.

Children & Spectators

  • Pole Angels is an 18+ studio.

  • Under extenuating circumstances, children 8 years and older who are able to sit quietly and unsupervised may wait in the reception area only. Children are not permitted to enter the studio space.

  • If you need to bring your child under these circumstances, please notify reception via email at least 12 hours in advance.

  • Spectators are not permitted unless approved by management.

Class Bookings & Attendance

  • All bookings must be made through the Clubworx app. Classes may be booked up to 12 weeks in advance.

  • If a class is full, you may join the waitlist. If a place becomes available, you will be notified via email. Please ensure you are still able to attend if a place becomes available. If you receive less than one hour's notice and cannot attend, email reception and we may waive the cancellation fee.

  • Please cancel instructor-led classes at least 4 hours before the scheduled start time.

  • Students arriving more than 5 minutes late may be refused entry at the instructor's discretion if they have missed essential warm-up or safety instruction.

  • Students arriving 10 minutes or more late will be marked as a no-show, charged the applicable fee, and will not be permitted to participate. This policy is strictly enforced.

  • Open Studio participants arriving 10 minutes or more late will be marked as a no-show and charged the applicable fee.

Inclusivity

Pole Angels is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful community where everyone feels safe and supported. We encourage kindness, good sportsmanship, and celebrating each other's achievements. Every student's journey is unique, so we ask that you avoid comparisons and instead focus on your own progress while encouraging those around you. Disrespectful, discriminatory, or bullying behaviour will not be tolerated.

Respect our History

  • We acknowledge and respect the Sex Workers, Strippers and dancers who paved the way for pole dancing as we know it today. Pole has its roots in Sex Work, and we proudly honour and support both current and former Sex Workers.

  • Pole Angels is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and safe space for Sex Workers, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people from all backgrounds.

  • If an instructor believes you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you will be asked to leave the studio immediately for the safety of yourself and others.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, respectful and empowering environment. We truly value every member of our community and appreciate your support in making Pole Angels a welcoming space for everyone.
